Which are the three simple and memorable activities you can do to remember the year that has passed?

Notes of love

Remember how at the end of the school year we all get our friends to sign our autograph books? It’s a special way of remembering people who have been a part of our lives. As this year comes to a dose, why not share notes of love with friends and family? While it might be difficult to buy an autograph book and pass it around friends to fill due to COVID-19 protocols, you could do it online.

Emails are a great way to express yourself as they don’t come with a word limit and can stay in your inbox for as long as you wish Collect the email IDs of all your loved ones and write them heartfelt mails about their importance your life. You could also add pictures or GIFS as attachments to make it more lively Finally, remember to encourage your loved ones to also write mails to everyone.

Video of memories

Videos establish an instant connection with those who view them because they have the benefit of being audiovisual. So why not share your year and memories with everyone as a video?

Go through the phone and camera gallery and look through all the photos and videos taken over the past year. You might have visited a new place, made a new friend or just enjoyed celebrating festivals with your loved ones. Move all your favourite pictures and videos to a folder and create a video with your favourite song as background music. There are many free video editing apps available for Android and Apple phones that you can use. Alternatively, you could move all the files to your laptop or computer and use a free editing software online to edit and make your video. Don’t forget to add text to make your video more interesting.

The good ol’ scrapbook

If the prospect of using technology and downloading software to make videos doesn’t appeal to you, take to the scrapbook. Even if you don’t have a scrapbook, you could use A4 papers and sew them or staple them together to form a book and later give it for binding so it stays sturdy for years. Print all your favourite photos. collect all those tiny notes and post-its your friends and family have shared with you, get the dried flower petals from the flower you managed to nurture on your own and stick them all up.

Use sketch pens, markers, ribbons and buttons to make each page more vivid and descriptive. Write down what each picture, note or object stuck means to you and share it with everyone. This might take up more time than making a video or writing a mail, but it would be worth the effort when you physically turn the pages years later.
