What is the meaning, origin and usage of the word ‘Concoct’?

Meaning : If you concoct something, especially something unusual, you make it by mixing several things together. Concoct also means to invent an excuse, explanation, or story in order to deceive someone.

Origin : The word “concoct” has been derived from the Latin “concoctus” which means “to digest”.

Usage : 1. The couple concocted a dish with all the leftover ingredients in their fridge to feed unannounced guests.

2. Isha concocted a story to get out of her school reunion.
