I’m in Std XII. I’m a PCM student. I’m interested in telecommunications. What should I do after Std XII to join this field? Please give me a better idea about this field, too.
Telecommunications means any communication over a distance, be it via telephone, television, radio, wireless network, computer network, telemetry. It is a mammoth industry, comprising companies that make hardware, produce software, and provide services.
People who are successful in telecommunications are generally technical savvy. Also, most companies expect you to have technical background and even specific knowledge of their line of business, for example wireless, fibre optics, etc.
To pursue a career in the telecom sector, you can go for B.Tech. in telecom engineering, information technology or computer engineering. For this, eligibility is 10+2 with PCM and admission is through an entrance examination like JEE or other state level examination.
