All-in-one futuristic phone

The Smile SmartWatch prototype is a smartphone, entertainment hub, social network, personal assistant, digital watch, all rolled into one futuristic device. A twin-display smartphone you can wrap around your wrist, the upper screen auto activates as the arm is raised, while the lower screen turns on when it’s pointed upwards by twisting the wrist. The OLED displays are housed inside an aluminium enclosure with waterproof and shock-resistant glass.

Embedded biosensors gather information about its wearer, e.g., after listening to streamed music it will recommend content based on user tastes and/or emotional responses. The Smile boasts 2GB of system memory, and 128 or 256 GB solid-state memory. A nano SIM card slot allows it to act as a smartphone or pair with an existing smartphone via Bluetooth. Besides being Wi-Fi-capable, it’s NFC-capable for instant, single-touch device connectivity. A sliding USB 3.0 connector helps keep the Smile from sliding off the wrist.

The Smile offers three integrated cameras – a face tracking webcam, a 12 MP snapper that can record 1080p HD video and a scanner/reader-like cam for bar codes, QR codes or URLs. An avatar-based digital personal assistant with speech recognition helps with searches, setting reminders, making notes, etc.
